Roles: Systems Designer, Tutorial Designer, Level Designer, Copywriter, QA, Documentation Wrangler
Ms. Germinator is a game I worked on as a Design Intern at Creat Studios. It's an action-physics-puzzler available for the PS3 and PSVita!
Here's some copy I wrote describing the game:
The deceptively simple core of Ms. Germinator draws influence from color-matching and shoot-things-at-other-similar-things puzzle games such as "Bust-a-Move", "Peggle", and "Puyo Puyo", taking the most addicting, accessible, and endearing traits from these genres and using them as a foundation for something entirely new. In place of the static objects of bubble-poppers and match-three-ers past, there are Germs! Ms. Germinator's gameplay revolves around shooting, merging, and over-inflating these germs, causing them to pop with cathartic glee.
As this was my first professional game development role, I was a jack of all trades at the studio. Most of my time was spent designing puzzle & tutorial levels for Ms. Germinator, but I was also involved in bug fixing, console certification, feature design, and prototyping of other projects.
